Important Information on Phthalates in Candles:
Many candles claim to be “phthalate-free” when they are not.
3 types of phthalates are used in cosmetic applications:
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)
Dimethyl phthalate (DMP)
Diethyl phthalate (DEP)
Of the three, DEP is what is commonly used in fragrance. Some companies make claims of being “phthalate-free,” later to specify in the fine print they are free of only dibutyl phthalates (DBP) —a misleading statement since DBP is not typically used in fragrance to begin with.
Every Woodland Wick candle is free of all 3 phthalates.

To Reuse Your Jar:
1. When your candle is used up and cooled completely, simply place it in your freezer for about a half hour. The remaining wax in the bottom of the jar will become brittle so that you can safely & gently tap the wax with a spoon to crack the frozen wax into pieces and remove them from the jar.
2. Carefully, pull the metal wick clip from the bottom of the jar. (We recommended using a needle nose plier for this.)
3. Once the metal is removed, pop your jar in the microwave for 30 seconds, and use a paper towel to wipe out the remaining wax residue along with the wick sticker.
4. Wash out your jar with dishwashing detergent and it is ready to use again!
To Recycle Your Jar:
Our jars are recyclable! When you no longer have a use for it, simply place the jar in your recycling bin.
Tips to get the most out of your candle:
Burn until the wax has melted all the way across the jar (up to 3–4 hours) before blowing it out.
Before re-lighting your cooled candle, gently remove any loose, charred wood from the wick.
